ROSES ARE RAD

Women & Non-Binary Climbing Competition

Every competitor is entered to win a 6-MONTH MEMBERSHIP

Roses Are Rad is a bouldering and top rope (including auto-belay) competition designed exclusively for women and non-binary climbers. The event celebrates community, representation, and the joy of climbing together.

Roses Are Rad is about more than standing on a podium. It’s about climbing in a space where your presence is the norm, where your community is loud, and where every send is celebrated.

Choose to compete in bouldering, top rope, or both. Roses Are Rad is built for all levels and centers on community, encouragement, and shared experience.

While we’ll celebrate podium finishes, prizes are structured as giveaways so any competitor can win, because every climber is part of what makes this event special.

Ropes Competition*

Routes have assigned points, increasing with difficulty. You can repeat routes for points, but not twice in a row. There is a limited amount of routes available so competitors must take turns to ensure fairness. Your total sends make up your final score, which determines podium placement using a scoring curve. All top rope anchors and auto belays are included in the competition.

*Competitors must be top rope certified. Belayers are not provided, so you’ll need to belay each other or have a registered spectator as your belayer.

Bouldering Competition

Prior to the event, climbers will choose the category that best reflects their current climbing level:

Open (V4+)
Intermediate (V0–V4)
Youth (Under 15)

Each category will have 15 assigned boulders, with some overlap across categories.

Competitors will have three hours to complete as many assigned problems as possible.

Final rankings are based on total climbs completed.
Ties are broken by attempts: fewer attempts rank higher.

The top three climbers in each category will earn a podium position.

There will be a 30 minute grace period at the start of the competition for adjusting categories.

HiClimb reserves the right to adjust category placements to ensure a fair and balanced competition.
