No. Tryouts help us understand your child’s comfort level, focus, and movement so we can place them where they’ll feel successful and supported. Many kids will start in a Club program—and that’s perfect.

No experience is required for Keiki Club or Rec Club. Some prior climbing helps for Performance programs, but it isn’t mandatory if your child is focused, coachable, and excited to learn.

We understand that things come up—illness, school events, family commitments. We’ll outline our full make-up and absence policy before programs start.

Performance programs may offer optional competition opportunities, but they are not designed as “win-at-all-costs” teams. Our focus is on long-term development, confidence, and healthy training habits.

Comfortable athletic clothing and a water bottle. Climbing gear can be rented or, if included with your final membership structure, provided—details to come.

At a minimum, your child will need climbing shoes. These are available for rent or purchase at HiClimb. A climbing harnesses and chalk bags are also available for rent and purchase, but may not be necessary for some levels of Youth Programs. Five years old is a great age to start, as the young climbers will need the physical strength and mental capacity to problem solve.

Wear anything you feel comfortable in, though stretchy athletic clothing that allows for maximum freedom of movement is probably your best bet. You'll be required to wear climbing shoes to climb, so remember a pair of socks.

We do! HiClimb offers free WiFi in addition to several co-working spaces.

Yes! We have first-come-first-serve lockers and cubbies for all guests. You will need to bring a lock if you want to lock your locker. We sell locks if you forgot yours.

None! HiClimb offers all required equipment for rent. If it's your first time to the gym, your equipment is included with your day pass!

HiClimb offers Bouldering, Top Rope, Lead, Auto-Belay and Kilter Board climbing. We also offer Yoga and Fitness classes!

Yes! You can test out top rope and lead climbing belay with a HiClimb staff member. However, staff availability may be increase wait times during peak hours. HiClimb teaches and enforces AMGA (https://amga.com/)belay standards.

Yes, HiClimb sells a wide variety of snacks and drinks. Additionally, Cafe Villamore (https://www.cafevillamor.com/)is located on site. Cafe hours may vary.

Pick a date and time that works for your team. Our available slots are: • Monday through Friday: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM or 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM • Tuesday & Friday evenings: 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM Please note: sessions are unavailable on school holidays. See our T&Cs for blackout dates.

All participants must complete an online liability waiver before the event. Please arrive 30 minutes early to get fitted for gear and attend a brief facility orientation.

Yes! Outside food and beverages may be restricted; please check with us in advance. Alcohol is only allowed in designated areas and with prior approval.

Yes, all climbing gear is provided and maintained by the gym.

• Cancellations made at least 17 days prior receive a full refund of any deposit. • Cancellations made within 17 days are non-refundable. • Rescheduling may be offered depending on availability.

Yes! Your team will receive a take-home T-shirts to celebrate the day.

Parents or guardians need to fill out waivers for themselves and any minors attending. Everyone attending needs to have a waiver on file even if they are not participating in climbing Please arrive 20 minutes early to get fitted for gear and attend a brief facility orientation.
