Learn to boulder and the Wahine Series are intended for beginners and intermediate climbers to boost your bouldering skills through a wide variety of techniques.

Learn the ropes
Learn The Ropes class is designed to introduce climbers to the basics of top-rope climbing.
This course will cover:

Climbing on Top-Rope
-
Belaying
-
Rope Management Techniques
-
Correct Belay Communication
-
Using auto-belays

1st visit: 2 hours (instruction)

2nd visit: 10 minutes (certification)

Upon completion of the course, climbers may stay and climb for the rest of the day but may not be belay certified until their next visit. On their next visit, no-less than 24 hours later, they may take the belay test. Once belay certified, they will be issued a top rope belay card and able to climb and belay on all top-ropes in the gym!

learn to lead
Learn to lead class is designed to introduce climbers to lead climbing and belaying. This course includes two training sessions, one-week apart.
This course will cover:

Has HiClimb top-rope belay certification

Climbing a grade of 5.9

Upon conclusion of training, climbers may stay and climb for the rest of the day but may not lead climb until fully certified by HiClimb staff. Once lead certified, they will be issued a lead belay card and able to climb and belay on all lead routes in the gym!
